Dr. Darius Louis Thieme, former faculty

Dr. Darius Louis Thieme made his transition on Monday, February 9, 2015, at the Fellowship Home, in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born on July 1, 1928 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a retired Professor of Music at Fisk University. He was a member of the Society for Ethnomusicology, and played for the 7th Army Symphony. Dr. Thieme was preceded in death by his parents Brainerd Hosier and Tabea Hofmann and a son, Richard Darius Thieme. He is survived by his son, Donald Thieme (Hanae Kanno), granddaughter Erica Kanno Thieme, and his former wife, Mary Stevenson Thieme of Panama City, Florida.
